Nick and Natasha's Wedding Celebration - Villa de Rothschild, St Jean Cap Ferrat

When we get an enquiry for an overseas wedding we get very excited! Earlier this year we had an email from a bride to be who saw us at a friends wedding last year – this wedding was going to be at the Villa de Rothschild, St Jean Cap Ferrat in the South of France! Being big fans of stately homes and all the grandeur that goes with them it didn’t take us too long to Google the villa! WOW! It was incredible; everything a UK historic house could offer plus almost guaranteed sunshine. We jumped at the opportunity of getting something of a tan this year!

Natasha and Nick's invite in front of the Villa

So after a meeting Natasha and Nick booked us to do their wedding photography for the 4th September this year. We landed in Nice on the 3rd to get checked into our hotel and to recce the venues for the next day, with Tris at the wheel of our Ford Ka and Mark’s navigational skills we were soon getting to grips with driving on the wrong side of the road.

The wedding blessing would take place in St Michaels Anglican church in Beaulie sur Mer just 10 minutes drive from the Villa de Rothschild. So after a quick look around the church we headed off to the Villa armed with our cameras. Well, it was everything we had imagined and more. The building was stunning inside and out and the gardens were just fabulous and to top it all within the gardens are musical fountains; something Nick and Natasha had told us all about as they wanted them captured in their wedding album.

So, with a good night sleep the day of the wedding arrived. Mark met Natasha at their home in St Jean Cap Ferrat and Tris met Nick and the boys at a hotel in Beaulie sur mer.

The blessing at the church was lovely with Natasha and her dad coming down the aisle to an emotional groom. As Natasha passed her mum she took a flower from her bouquet and gave it to her Mum which was a wonderful moment to capture on camera.

After the service we headed back to the Villa de Rothschild for an incredible wedding reception. Nick and Natasha had the pictures of the two of them taken in the gardens whilst their guests were arriving at the villa. As we finished the photographs of the two of them Nick and Natasha arrived back at the front of the villa to their elated guests who were all in awe of the stunning venue, its grounds and the musical fountains!! Sometimes when you are behind the camera you have to pinch yourself to make sure you are really seeing what’s in front of you.

After a handful of group photographs Nick and Natasha had a Persian blessing with their 200 guests watching from the terrace whilst the sun went down over the Mediterranean.

The wedding breakfast was then outside; with candles lighting up the tables and the warm evening temperatures making this wedding breakfast one of our most memorable.

During the speeches Nick's Mum had a surprise when she was presented with a cake as it was her birthday too!

The evening was full of celebration with people dancing to Persian music and a DJ all night long. Here is a lovely shot of Natasha during their first dance.

The French will never let us down on the wedding cake, Nick and Natasha had a traditional French wedding cake called a Croquembouche, meaning crunch in the mouth.

WOW!
